  1. Permanent Points Of Interest

    For 'adventurers' being able to say, login to topomaps nz and being able to place markers at points of interest that you can always come back and refer to at a later date would be amazing. I myself am a photographer and the option to place markers at a potential spot would be an immense addition for many people who use this service.

  2. OSX Apple iPhone App

    Such a great resource should be available for iphones too! I would use this a lot, especially with the offline availability. And yes I'm well aware of map toaster, but the overlays with aerial and satellite imagery is game changer.

  3. Support locations via what3words

    Support indexing via what3words. This is an brilliant indexing system for the entire world where each 3x3m location can be indexed via 3 words. For example, the ChristChurch Cathedral can be located using "loaf.reason.closed"; much easier to say than "-43.5309188,172.6371539"

    This location cane be shown on a map using the url http://w3w.co/loaf.reason.closed

    I think two features would be really useful here:
    * Display the what3words location of the cursor in the Coordinates menu.
    * Provide an alternate URL scheme to allow the w3w address to be added to allow embedding, links etc.

  5. Add the ability to print a map to the correct scale

    When "print map" is selected with the topo 50 selected, and the print option is selected as A4 portrait, for example, then the red print area should default to 10.5 x 14.85 grid squares (less about a 6 mm print margin all around). It can then be moved around by the central handle to get the best coverage of the area of interest. It is much more legible to print the maps at the scale they were intended to be printed.

  8. add marine charts to your topo maps options

    Could you please add marine charts to your topo maps options
    This would make it a lot easier for me to plan shore diving and fishing trips and will add to your user base.

    Some locations can't be found through the location search such as Ngahiramai Hut in the Te Ureweras.

  10. Offer a paid option to suppress the 'you're running an ad blocker' popup

    I have an adblocker running and I'd prefer to leave it on since I print maps off the website and like not having an ad in those printed maps.

    I'm also conscious that I'm depriving you of revenue so have thrown money at your givealittle page.

    I'd like to suppress the 'you're running an adblocker' popup. It'd be great if you could add functionality to sell me a licence key or whatever, that disabled the popup. I reckon a good portion of your adblocked audience would pay $10 to $20 for such a key.

  11. Zoom in more for comparing topo map against satellite imagery

    When using the transparency control to compare the topo map against satellite imagery the ability to zoom in further would be handy as the satellite imagery has more detail available.

  12. Add an API to allow place name to be used

    Add an API parameter e.g. mapname="Mount-Ruapehu/Manawatu-Wanganui"
    to allow a place name, rather than reference to be used in embedded maps

  13. Easy searchable link to the Harper Pinnacles

    Often during "Peninsula Tramping Club" trips to this area we visit the HARPER PINNACLES. This is a popular formation up the Harper River (true Right) from the Avoca River confluence.

  15. Include Street names in search.

    Currently Street names cannot be searched for. For example Scotts Road and Mangatarere Valley Road are used to access the Tararuas. But you can't find them to plan your drive to the road end.
    I suggestion that street names be added to the search, but optionally, so you might have to click a box to include street names into the search.

  16. Adding boundaries per territorial unit level

    I was just thinking for this online researching map to make things more interesting in a local and sub-national aspect. And that is to add boundary lines for every territorial unit level within the nation of New Zealand: from regional councils to territorial authorities to wards to even area unit-level divisions (either suburbs & towns & neighborhoods on urban areas or communities & localities & settlements & villages on rural areas). Any thoughts?
