update track STATUS every month, especially newly opened and closed tracks using DOC notices.
Update the status ( open (-----), closed (--X--X--X), damaged (--xxxx--) )
of all DOC tracks. Use DOC notices or just scrape from DOC maps.

DoC have a API (https://api.doc.govt.nz/getting-started) which although it has problems is adequate. Note that the data behind could be better. See some doco here https://kiwiwiki.nz/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Cookbook/NZDoC

Does the existing "Info Layers" functionality provided through the "Tracks & Trails" layer not provide all the information you require? Screenshot attached to illustrate the functionality in use.
